Facebook Link Post - Problems with Video Playback on FB

I tried pasting the link to a video into my status on FB:  http://testing.plumi.org/Members/clopy/videos/test-16-9/view

The link appeared with what looked like a video player (similar to what is working from engagemedia.org currently in terms of linked EM videos). When I clicked it though, the video did not play in the facebook page, it opened another window, and loaded the video/view page.  http://testing.plumi.org/Members/clopy/videos/test-16-9/view

Fixed, and updated demo.plumi.org (we needed a production build to test it).

There is also this  http://developers.facebook.com/bugs/178603672219995?browse=search_4eecf46075e119134925314 related bug that prevents us from displaying the html5 versions. We'll keep track of it and update our code when they fix it.

Tried this on demo.plumi & staging.engagemedia.org - but still no video plays.

Just tried it on demo.plumi.org and facebook displays the video. You need to try it on demo.plumi.org that is a production instance and with a new video, because FB caches the video link.

Ok, tested and working. The interface for the video does not seem to function well though - I could not click pause or see the duration etc. See screenshot.

I got the same result - it posts a link to a page to view the video, rather than the video itself.

testing with a new video on demo.plumi.org I get only the issue with the controls.

I'm still getting the same result with a video from plumi - the video player is not embedded in Facebook.

With a video from engagemedia.org, the video is embedded if I use the "share on social networks" button, but not if I simply pasted the video page url.

Hi, i can't report this using the link below, but i got an error/no playback by embedding a video  https://www.engagemedia.org/Members/lococonut/videos/gorby_reclaims_apuse/view from EM web....(check EM_FB_Test2.png) and the other video  https://www.engagemedia.org/Members/papuanvoicesmerauke/videos/sagero_en/view (the first video on the row EM_FB_Test1.png), redirect me to EM view page..

ow i'm doing this by EM bookmark on top right of view page..

I've attached a screenshot of what I get when I paste a direct url. The black box doesn't play any video, clicking on it leads to video page.

I'd like to know why when pasting the url alone, sometimes it embeds the video and sometimes it doesnt. Wonder if thats an issue with facebook or on our side? Usually the video can be embedded just by pasting the url (this is for other sites like youtube or vimeo).

For now the 'sharing on other social networks' button on the top right of the video pages always work, but in the site redesign we might want to make the sharing bookmark larger / more obvious.
